The BCO LPMR-X 4K mission recorder is a low-profile night vision recording system engineered for use with PVS-14 style optics. This upgraded USB-C model delivers true 4K Ultra High Definition (3840×2160) video recording at 30 frames per second with superior audio capture through an integrated microphone. Built by BecauseOperator, the LPMR-X 4K records exactly what you see through your night vision device, preserving mission footage, training sessions, or field use with unmatched clarity.
This new LPMR-X 4K model is the evolution of the popular LPMR Mk.2, which recorded in 1080p. The upgraded 4K sensor and faster processor provide a dramatic increase in detail, brightness handling, and overall video quality. With BecauseOperator’s 2024 housing redesign, the LPMR-X 4K is now 15% lighter and even more rugged, using a stronger material composition. Cable management is improved with an optional inline USB-C quick disconnect, allowing for faster mounting and deployment in the field.
Powered via USB-C, the recorder runs from any compatible external power source such as a helmet battery pack or USB power bank (not included). Video files are stored on a microSD card up to 512GB (not included), recorded in 5-minute seamless loops to ensure continuous capture. When powered on, the system begins recording automatically. The recording indicator light turns off after 5 seconds to minimize visual signature during covert use.
The BCO LPMR-X 4K mission recorder connects directly to PC or Mac for MP4 file transfer without the need for a card reader. The device uses the HEVC (H.265) codec for efficient high-quality video compression. BecauseOperator recommends VLC media player for playback compatibility.
